Winter already…Still lots to do in the garden though.

Perhaps you need help with some of the following:

  • Winter pruning (eg. apple and pear trees, roses)
  • Planting of trees and shrubs
  • Division of perennials
  • Soil preparation (winter digging/soil improvement/mulching)
  • Deciduous hedge cutting
  • Final leaf clearance
  • Tidying up snow damaged shrubs
  • Composting system improvements
  • Snow shovelling (eg. driveways, steps and patios)

Merry Christmas to all customers and website visitors.

The nights are drawing in, but Autumn is one of the busiest times of the gardening year, and a colourful one too in a well designed garden.  Here are some of the things you may like me to be getting on with in your garden in these coming weeks:

  • Autumn pruning and tidy-ups (summer flowering shrubs need pruning, perennials need cutting back)
  • Hedge cutting
  • Dividing tired perennials (to increase their vigour)
  • Planting spring-flowering bulbs
  • Lawn care (including scarification, aeration, re-seeding patches, turfing)
  • Clearing out summer bedding, digging over and improving soil
  • Planting and transplanting trees and shrubs
  • Leaf clearing

Summer’s in full swing, and so is the gardener.  Leave all the hard work to me, so you can get on with enjoying your beautiful garden.

Here are some of the things you may like me to do:

  • Lawn care (lawns are best cut fortnightly in summer)
  • Seasonal pruning of shrubs
  • Dead-heading, to get the most out of your borders
  • Planting up borders
  • Container and basket planting
  • Watering and ‘garden sitting’ (if you’re away on holidays and don’t want to return to a scorched garden)
  • Hedge trimming
  • Fruit thinning
  • Bed and border maintenance

May is the height of spring.  It comes in with the tulips and out with the peonies. There is, of course, lots to be getting on with in the garden:

  • Lawn cutting
  • Lawn care  –  eg.  feeding, weed control
  • Seasonal pruning
  • Planting up borders
  • Planting up summer containers / baskets (eg. petunias and lobelia)
  • Weeding duties are now in full swing

If you would like some help with any of the above, or with anything else in the garden, please contact me.

The planting of summer bulbs

Soil preparation and seed sowing

Tree and shrub feeding

Division of perennials

Clearing of overgrown gardens …. and more

….and I’m never afraid of digging and weeding!
